Get Your Medications While Maintaining a Distance From Others

TRICARE beneficiaries can obtain their medications while maintaining a distance from others.

Here are a few options for refilling and renewing medications from home:

  1. Use TRICARE Home Delivery Pharmacy Program, which always offers free standard shipping. This option is best for maintenance drugs that you take regularly for a chronic condition, like high cholesterol or high blood pressure. Beneficiaries can easily manage prescription orders through our web portal, or mobile app. If a beneficiary currently fills a 30-day supply at a local or military pharmacy, they can ask their doctor e-prescribe a 90-day supply and send it to Express Scripts.

 

  1. Local Pharmacy Home Delivery. More than 56,000 pharmacy locations are in the TRICARE retail pharmacy network, including national chains, grocery chains and independent pharmacies. Pharmacies in the TRICARE network, including Walgreens, Walmart, Kroger, and Rite Aid, provide local delivery options for beneficiaries. Beneficiaries can locate pharmacies in the TRICARE network by using the Find a Pharmacy tool on our website and mobile app.

COVID-19 Test Scam Messages

The Defense Health Agency Program Integrity has received information from the law enforcement that an attempt or attempts to scam a Medicare beneficiary into giving personal information in order to receive a COVID-19 test kit. 

These incidents confirm that scammers are designing and engaging in a new fraud schemes to take advantage of the patient population that is afraid and experiencing anxiety. In addition, law enforcement has uncovered counterfeit COVID-19 test kits at a California international airport.  

Any unsolicited call regarding a COVID-19 test kit is an attempt to gather personal information from you that could lead to father fraud and identity theft.  It is important to be aware of these type of scams and mindful of the fact that you as a TRICARE beneficiary will probably be targeted, especially more senior TRICARE beneficiaries.

Medication Adherence Pilot Program

Beneficiaries filling select medications will participate in a pilot program that will lower or remove pharmacy copayments at in-network retail pharmacies and through TRICARE Home Delivery Pharmacy Program.

The pilot program will examine how lower or no copayments encourage beneficiaries to take their medication as directed and lead to better health outcomes. The program may run up to five years, ending no later than December 31, 2022.

Eligible Medications:

Two medications will be part of the pilot program and will have either a lower, or no copayment at in-network retail pharmacies and Home Delivery. Original copayment amounts (not the reduced copayment amount) will be applied to the catastrophic cap and deductible.
