You can use the TRICARE Formulary Search Tool to check the cost of a medication, its formulary status, prior authorization requirements, and any forms needed to process a patient’s prescription including medical necessity forms.

How your patients can get their medication

Home Delivery

By using Express Scripts® Pharmacy, your patients can get up to a 3-month supply shipped right to their door in secure, weather-resistant packaging. Free standard delivery is included.

Military Pharmacy

Your patients can go to a participating Military Treatment Facility (MTF) to pick up most medication with no copay.

Retail Pharmacy

Your patients can get their medications from a retail pharmacy in the TRICARE network. A copay is required for each 1-month supply. Accredo Specialty Pharmacy is now part of the TRICARE retail network for specialty medications.

How to prescribe medication for a patient who is deploying

Deployment

When a patient is deploying, they may get up to a 180-day initial supply. Refills of their medication can be delivered through the Deployment Prescription Program (DPP).
