More Support, More Confidence: Add a Caregiver to Help Manage Your Prescriptions
Having the right people by your side makes all the difference. We believe the same is true when managing your medication. That’s why you can add a caregiver to your Express Scripts account. When you add a caregiver, you give them access to tools that make it more convenient to stay on top of your health—together.
Why add a caregiver to my account?
Adding a caregiver to your Express Scripts account means you’ll have support at every step. You’ll have someone to help you manage your TRICARE pharmacy benefits.
Through your account, a caregiver will be able to:
- Order prescriptions
- Check your order status
- Answer questions about your orders (like where to ship your medication or how to pay)
- Speak to patient care advocates on your behalf
- Set account preferences?
Who can be a caregiver?
A caregiver is anyone who provides you with care or assistance.
Whether it’s a family member or friend who provides care and assistance or an in-home nurse who assists with your medications, anyone who makes it possible for you to live life on your terms can be added to your Express Scripts account.
How do I add a caregiver to my account?
Add caregivers to your Express Scripts account by following these steps:
- Log in to your Express Scripts account.
- Click on “Account” at the top of the page.
- Choose “Add a Caregiver” from the drop-down menu.
- Fill in the required details. You’ll need their name, phone number, email address, and date of birth.
- Add an optional end date. Caregiver access can be revoked at any time by either indicating an end date or by removing the caregiver from your account.
- Read the terms and conditions, then check the box to submit an electronic signature.
You can also add a caregiver to your account by contacting Express Scripts at 877.363.1303.
Note: If your caregiver holds your power of attorney (POA), you still need to designate them as a caregiver on your account.
You can have up to eight designated caregivers on your account—so build your care team and add them in. Adding a caregiver does not replace the beneficiary as the account manager. Beneficiaries will continue to have full access to manage their prescriptions and their Express Scripts account.
When it comes to your care, you have a team.
And we’re proud to be a part of it.
We’re here to empower you to manage your health and pharmacy benefits as conveniently as possible. And if that means adding caregivers to help manage your prescriptions, we’re here for them, too.
