To get started, visit the TRICARE Formulary Search Tool. Type in the brand name or generic name and strength of the medication. You will also need to enter the gender and age of the person using the medication. A completed search will include the following:

  • Where you can fill the medication
  • How much you will pay at different fill locations
  • TRICARE coverage details - if the medication requires prior authorization and medical necessity forms your doctor may need these to process your prescription
  • Alternative options, such as generic or brand name drugs
