Is TRICARE Home Delivery right for me?

TRICARE Home Delivery offers a convenient and reliable way to get the prescriptions you take on a regular basis. With free standard delivery, you can get your medication shipped right to you, whether you’re at home or on vacation.[1]

You can benefit from home delivery if:

  • You regularly take prescriptions. If you take a daily or long-term medication for a chronic condition, home delivery may be right for you. Home delivery allows you to order up to a 90-day supply of your medication delivered right to your door.[2] If your address changes, your home delivery order moves with you.[3]

Some medications require a Prior Authorization or a Medical Necessity form to be filled out by your doctor prior to your medication being filled. This information can be found by searching your medication on the TRICARE Formulary Search Tool.

  • You need to refill the prescriptions you take regularly. Home delivery offers auto refills for eligible prescriptions. After you have enrolled your prescription in the auto refill program, you can easily schedule your next refill ahead of time. This way you won’t have to keep track of when your next refill is mailed to you.

Review and approve prescriptions that are ready to refill. We will always ask you to confirm the prescription to be mailed two weeks before the refill date. Once we receive your consent, your refill will be processed and mailed to you. If you do not take action or choose “do not refill”, your prescription will no longer be in the automatic refill program and Express Scripts will not ship your medication. Reminders for your refill will continue until your prescription expires. You can opt into the automatic refill again at any time.

  • You would like clinical support in the comfort of your home. Once we have your prescription, our pharmacists will check that the medication prescribed is safe and effective for you. Our specially trained pharmacists are available 24/7, so you always have their support when needed. Get answers to your questions regarding medications in the privacy and comfort of your home.

What if I have other health insurance (OHI)? Some members have TRICARE and other health insurance (OHI), often through their employer, Medicare Part D, or another private insurance program. If you have OHI with a prescription plan, you’re not eligible to use home delivery unless one of the following applies to you:

  • Your OHI does not cover pharmacy benefits.
  • Your medication is not covered by your OHI.
  • You’ve met your OHI’s benefit cap (i.e., you have met your benefit’s maximum coverage limit).
