How can I update my communication preferences?

Using your Express Scripts online account, you can choose how you receive most of your communications about your prescriptions and benefits. We can send you email notifications related to your coverage, benefits, claims, and more. You can set your communication preferences to receive updates online, and change back to paper whenever you choose.

To update your communication preferences, log in to your Express Scripts account. Navigate to the top menu and select Account. In the dropdown menu, click “Communication Preferences”. Select the Preferred communication method under Preferences. Choose your preferred communication method – email, text, or phone – and click Save at the bottom of the screen.

My Medications

We do our best to honor your communication preference. Occasionally, we may need to send messages that are not available for your preferred communication method.

What communications can I receive electronically?

You can receive communications about your prescription and order status, pharmacy options, and pharmacy benefit plan, coverage, and safety alerts. You can also choose how you would like to receive your Explanation of Benefits Statements (EOBs) – by email, text, or mail.

By choosing email or text delivery for your communications, you will receive notifications of important messages regarding your prescriptions and pharmacy benefits faster than paper notifications. Email and text delivery can provide greater security by reducing the risks of mail fraud and identity theft. Only you can access your information, as your online account is password protected.

You can also allow notifications from within “Communication Preferences” in the free Express Scripts® Pharmacy Mobile App. Ensure your contact information, including, your email address, phone number, and address, is up to date to receive communications about your prescriptions and medication therapy.

Updates sent via push notification include:

  • Order received
  • New prescription needed
  • Doctor hasn’t responded to request for prescription
  • Order shipped
  • Scheduled order arrival date
  • Order delivered
