What is your prescription drug Explanation of Benefits (EOB)?
Your prescription drug Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement shows a summary of your past medication orders. It is not a bill.
Express Scripts records your prescription claim on an EOB statement each time you get a prescription filled at a retail network pharmacy or through home delivery. It helps you understand your drug claims and costs when using your pharmacy benefit.
Printed EOB are mailed to you every three months and emails are delivered monthly. You can change your delivery preference through your online account. You’re also able to view your statements online anytime.
How should I use it?
Your EOB statement is the best way to review your prescription claims and understand your medication costs and how much you saved. You can view, print, or download your EOB statements from as far back as 27 months ago.
What if something appears incorrect on my EOB statement?
You should always review your EOB statement and check for mistakes. If you notice something incorrect on your EOB statement, contact Express Scripts at 1-877-363-1303.
How to find your EOB statements:
- Log in to your account.
- Under Benefits in the top menu, select Explanation of Benefits.
- Choose a date range.
- Click Get an EOB to view your information.
Switch to online EOB statements:
Set account communication preferences to receive your next EOB online. It’s safer to review your EOB online as you can only read your statements after logging in. This means there’s less risk of identity theft and fraud.
To switch to online statements, visit Account in the top menu and select Communication Preferences. Under Documents - EOB, change your delivery method to "Get online".
